Gunnar Tapani – President
Tapani Plumbing was founded by Gunnar Tapani in 1983, beginning as a small plumbing contractor that has expanded into the trusted commercial plumbing contractor it is today. Gunnar instills a great deal of confidence in his staff and gives employees a feeling of ownership in their accomplishments. He has led Tapani Plumbing through many years of steady growth and believes Tapani’s culture of hard work and trust in General Contractor and client relationships is the primary factor in the company’s continued success and leading reputation in the commercial plumbing field. In his free time, Gunnar is an avid fisherman.
Ross Tapani – Vice President
Ross moved from the role as Senior Project Manager to Vice President in September of 2010. Ross began working for Tapani Plumbing in 1993. During his tenure as a licensed journeyman plumber, he learned the complexities of the design, installation and operation of the dynamic commercial plumbing systems Tapani installs. Ross oversees all operations and departments. His leadership strength lies in motivating and inspiring the individuals he supervises.
He affords them the latitude to plan and execute their own projects, and encourages each individual to come up with common sense solutions for complex issues. Ross has earned his reputation as a respected and experienced leader by trusting and empowering the employees he works with.
Marvin Forfar – Shop Manager
As shop manager, Marvin uses his extensive experience and can-do attitude to see that the field crews have the correct tools, parts and material to get the job done. Marvin started working at Tapani Plumbing in 2007. He has brought a wealth of business experience from his previous careers in the logging and fuel industries. Marvin enjoys a good cup of coffee and entertaining his grandchildren in his spare time.
John Kaski – Equipment Manager
John has been with Tapani Plumbing since 2001. Because of his work ethic & ability, he’s worn many hats in his tenure here. John handles the dispatching of our equipment fleet; ensuring the crews have the tools and equipment they need when they need it. John has over 25 years of experience in the trucking industry, with many years of hazardous materials training.
Dan is responsible for overseeing our safety program. He orients new employees and looks for ways to improve upon safety and training. It is his job to collect weekly reports from project Foremen and do monthly job site inspections, and make sure each employee is properly trained in a number of safety related tasks.
Brian Ek – Senior Project Manager
As Senior Project Manager, Brian assists and oversees Tapani Plumbing’s project managers and project foremen, ensuring all projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Brian starting working for Tapani Plumbing in 2002 as an estimator’s assistant. He was involved with estimating operations for several years before moving over to a project Project Manager position in 2005.
Brian has excelled as a project manager by getting involved with the projects early with extensive pre-planning. As well as his project manager role, Brian is the sole representative of the Construction Apprenticeship Training Committees program, in which he oversees Tapani Plumbing’s apprentices’ involvement with their apprenticeship program. In his spare time, Brian enjoys spending time outdoors and in the mountains hiking, hunting, fishing and biking.
Drew Anderson – Estimator
Drew started with Tapani Plumbing in 2009 as a shop assistant and delivery driver, before being promoted to be our purchasing agent. In early 2011 we had need for assistance in the estimating department, and Drew was promoted to this role. As an estimator, Drew excels at developing bids, researching the project, assembling proposal portfolios, and calculating material and labor costs.
Roberta Kysar – Office Manager
Roberta started in Accounts Payable for Tapani Plumbing in 2000 and was promoted to her current position as Office Manager one year later. As Tapani Plumbing’s office manager, Roberta manages banking and corporate investments, corporate insurance, accounts receivable, project billing, payroll and employee benefits. She performs her role confidently with precision and excellent attention to detail, ensuring financial stability of the company and a positive working environment for employees. Roberta’s outstanding professional and organizational skills make her a valuable asset to the company.
David has been with us since 1999, when he started as an apprentice. He holds a Journeyman card in both Washington and Oregon. David brings many years of experience running large, complex projects to his position as project manager.
Tasha began working at Tapani Plumbing in 2012 at the position of Receptionist and Accounts Payable. Tasha’s responsibilities include answering and dispatching calls, accounts payable duties and taking care of general office needs. Tasha handles the front desk in an efficient and professional manner, ensuring that your questions will get answered.
As a Project Manager, Kurt assists and oversees Tapani Plumbing’s foremen, ensuring all projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Kurt began working for Tapani Plumbing in 2001 as a plumbing apprentice and rose through the ranks to become a project foreman. Kurt holds a journeyman license in Washington, Oregon & Idaho. Due to the quality of his work and his attention to detail, Kurt was promoted to a Project Manager position in 2012.
Kurt has excelled as a manager by using his knowledge and experience to troubleshoot and pre-plan projects. Supervising commercial projects, he provides a quality service for our clients and our company with his understanding of the culture of large general contractors and suppliers that have the same company values.
Aaron Kaski – General Foreman
Aaron supervises the finishing phases of all projects. He began with Tapani Plumbing in 1993, working his way from shop boy to journeyman plumber. Aaron was a project foreman for many years, and because his primary concern is ensuring the quality of each project is kept to the highest standards, he was promoted to his current position in 2014. Besides being our quality control analyst, Aaron is involved with the hiring process and dispatching of manpower and crews.
Loren supervises the ground work and rough in stages of all projects. Loren started with us in February of 2000. He holds a Journeyman Plumbing license in both Washington and Oregon. Previously a project foreman, Loren was promoted to his current position in early 2014. He works as a liaison between the Project Managers and the field foremen, scheduling dispatch and manpower, assisting the foremen with planning and training, and overseeing quality control.
Mark started with Tapani Plumbing in the fall of 2012 as a laborer. He was drafted into the office in the spring of 2013 when there was need for help in the estimator’s office. In his current positions he creates virtual plumbing modeling for clash coordination and prefabrication. Mark uses computer software to take an engineered model and turn it into a real world, prefabrication ready model.
Blake started with us in the fall of 2014. He was a project assistant for several years before getting involved with building information modeling. Blake uses CAD software to program the total stations for field ready use. He loads all points of coordinates and layout of piping.
Channing started with us in the summer of 2015 as a project assistant. He builds submittals and deals with our vendors directly to get quotes and award jobs. Channing makes sure that the permits necessary for each job are obtained and in order ahead of time, and is also involved with project startups and project closeouts.
